G-Dragon and Stray Kids emerged as the biggest winners on Chapter Two of the 2025 MAMA Awards, held on November 29th at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium. They joined Chapter 1 winners Rosé and ENHYPEN, rounding out this year’s four grand-prize recipients.
Stray Kids took home Album of the Year and broke down in tears on stage. “We still can’t believe it,” the members said, thanking each other for enduring so much and for being able to share the music and performances we love. The group said the win only motivates them “to work even harder.”
G-Dragon accepted Artist of the Year, sharing that his year felt “joyful and sad all at once.” Receiving the award from his longtime idol Chow Yun-fat during Mnet’s 30th anniversary made the moment even more meaningful, he said. He also promised fans, “Next year is Big Bang’s 20th anniversary—I’ll be back with my friends so it won’t be lonely.”
The artist also won Best Dance Performance – Male Solo and Best Male Artist, completing an impressive four-trophy night.
aespa also earned four awards, including Best Female Group, Best Choreography, and Best Dance Performance – Female Group. “Our full album is coming in the new year,” they said. “We hope you’ll look forward to it.”
Despite concerns after a major apartment fire in Hong Kong, MAMA pushed ahead with a scaled-down show and donated 3.5 billion KRW (approx. $2.4 million USD) toward recovery efforts. Many attending artists, including Stray Kids, IVE and aespa, also contributed. Several planned performances—such as the Saja Boys cover featuring members from RIIZE, TWS, BOYNEXTDOOR, and ZEROBASEONE—were canceled out of respect for the city’s mourning period.
