Seo Kang Joon has hit a real estate jackpot.
According to real-estate industry sources on November 14th, Seo Kang Joon sold his 42.35-pyeong (140㎡) unit on the 40th floor of the luxury Trimage apartment complex in Seoul’s Seongsu-dong on June 14th for 5.8 billion won ($3.9 million).
He originally purchased the apartment on December 5th, 2019, for 3.39 billion won ($2.3 million)—meaning he earned an impressive 2.41 billion won ($1.63 million) in profit over five years.
At the time of purchase, a 1.1 billion won ($746,000) maximum debt security was registered under his name. In 2022, two additional collateral registrations were added under his agency, Man of Creation, totaling 360 million won ($244,000) in maximum debt. Given that the maximum-debt figure typically represents about 120% of an actual loan, Seo is estimated to have borrowed around 1.5 billion won ($1 million)—all of which has since been fully repaid, as indicated by the removal of the liens.
Seo also showed his attachment to the Trimage complex by “switching units” once before. In 2017, he moved into a 41.14-pyeong unit, purchased for 1.647 billion won ($1.1 million), then sold it for 2.9 billion won ($2 million) in 2019 before purchasing the river-facing unit he just sold.
Trimage, a 688-unit luxury residential complex that opened in 2015, is considered one of Seongsu-dong’s “Big Three” high-end apartments alongside Acro Seoul Forest and Galleria Forêt. With 24-hour security, hotel-style concierge services, a breakfast lounge, fitness center, and sauna, it remains a top choice among celebrities. BTS members J-Hope and Jungkook previously owned units there, and current residents reportedly include Taeyeon and Sunny of Girls’ Generation; Donghae, Leeteuk, and Choi Si Won of Super Junior; Yura of Girl’s Day; Kim Jae Joong; and actor Kim Ji Hoon.
