Rapper MC Mong has spoken out about the ongoing controversies surrounding him, including a recent backlash over a painting of Adolf Hitler displayed in his home, while also revealing disturbing photos of self-inflicted wrist injuries.
MC Mong posted photos of scars on his wrist to social media on November 11th, writing, “If you see this photo, you’ll know how big of a controversy it will cause and how much pain it will bring to my family and fans. I’m sorry.”
He continued, “This happened a month ago. The police arrived ten minutes after my suicide attempt. I couldn’t stop crying. One officer told me, ‘I listened to your music today,’ and that broke me. I felt like I’d lost money, music, everyting and I wanted to die. But all I felt was regret.”
Earlier, MC Mong had faced harsh criticism at home and abroad after he posted a photo showing a portrait of Adolf Hitler in his home. As public outrage grew, he clarified that the painting was an early work by artist Ok Seung Chul, explaining that it was meant to criticize human greed and barbarism, not glorify Hitler.

“The beard was painted with straw to symbolize someone who sucks the blood of others,” he said. “Please understand it as a work of art. Some artworks are made to criticize. Worshipping him was never the purpose.”
He added, “People who don’t understand art make cruel assumptions about intent. For the record, I hate Hitler. I hate anyone who starts wars.”
During the controversy, old allegations of draft evasion resurfaced. MC Mong addressed them head-on: “I thought it’d all be okay if I just kept quiet and endured it. I was exempted from military service due to ligament and spinal injuries, but I still tried to serve. I was found not guilty of draft-dodging in all three court rulings: the district court, appeals court and Supreme Court.”
He warned that he would take legal action against any outlet or commenter who continues to label him a draft dodger, stating, “If public opinion can change with one article, then I deserve to live again after 17 years of silence.”
MC Mong also reflected on the toll the accusations have taken on his mental health: “How much do you really know about me? Do I still seem like that wild guy from 2 Days & 1 Night? I fought against the draft-dodging allegations. But do you think I’ve found any glory?”
He called his suicide attempt the “most foolish moment” of his life, saying he now wants to live differently: “Life is precious, and I believe I can change. I’m not donating money to change my image. I’ve lived quietly, never reported false articles or malicious comments. I thought, ‘If people criticize me, I’ll just take it.’ But now, I’ve realized I’ve been enduring pain much longer than I should. I’m not taking this anymore.”
He ended his post by apologizing to fans and promising to move forward: “I want to remember the moment I almost gave up on life. I’m so, so sorry. I’ll live stronger and work harder from now on.”
