Jun Ji Hyun has finally shared her love story with husband Choi Jun Hyuk.

On November 6th, the top star made her long-awaited appearance on Hong Jin Kyung’s YouTube channel—marking her first full appearance on the platform in 28 years since her debut. While many A-listers have been actively engaging online, Jun has long maintained an air of mystery, appearing only briefly in select magazine interviews and a short cameo on Lee Mi Sook’s YouTube channel this past September.

During the episode, Jun walked fans through her life from debut to marriage, including the story of how she first met her husband.

“I really didn’t want to go on that blind date,” she admitted with a laugh. “It just felt so awkward. But my friend kept saying the guy was really handsome… and before I knew it, my body was already there.” She added with a smile, “And he really was—just as good-looking as they said.”

When asked if it was love at first sight, Jun shyly replied, “I think it was.”

Born in 1982, Jun Ji Hyun married her same-age husband Choi Jun Hyuk in 2012, and the couple share two sons. Much like the actress herself, Choi has also kept a low profile, rarely appearing in public and maintaining his own air of mystery.

But last year, the family was spotted traveling together in Germany, where Jun was seen attending a France-Netherlands match with her husband and sons. In 2023, the couple also appeared at Manchester City’s exhibition match in Seoul, drawing buzz after clips surfaced online.

As one of Korea’s most iconic stars, Jun hasn’t been free from rumors. In June 2021, she became the subject of sudden divorce reports after a YouTuber claimed Choi had moved out, allegedly saying he was “tired of being known as Jun Ji Hyun’s husband.”

At the time, Jun’s agency swiftly denied the story, calling it “completely false,” and vowed to take strong legal action against the spread of false information.

Shortly afterward, Choi humorously updated his messenger profile to a Slam Dunk parody image with the caption: “I want to be Jun-jun’s husband.” The couple was later seen on a date in Songdo, effectively putting the rumors to rest.
