Hwang Min Hyun may be returning to the small screen soon after completing his military service, with an offer to star in TVING’s upcoming Study Group Season 2.
On October 23rd, his agency Pledis Entertainment confirmed that “Hwang Min Hyun has received an offer for Study Group Season 2 and is currently in discussions.”
The first season of Study Group, released earlier this year, was based on the popular webtoon of the same name. The drama follows Yoon Ga Min (Hwang Min Hyun), a student who dreams of academic success but finds his true talent lies in fighting. At Yuseong Technical High School, one of the country’s toughest schools, he forms a “study group” in pursuit of his goals—leading to both chaos and growth. Hwang’s performance earned him praise for creating what many fans called his “career-defining role.”
Hwang Min Hyun began his service as a public service worker in March 2024 and is scheduled to be discharged on December 20th.
