Stars celebrated Hangeul Day by promoting national prestige in their own unique ways.
BLACKPINK’s Jennie announced the launch of a new font, ‘ZEN SERIF,’ on Hangeul Day (October 9th) through her agency OA Entertainment’s official website and social media channels. The font embodies her wish for more people to use Hangeul conveniently and beautifully.
Furthermore, OA Entertainment, in collaboration with Meta, became the first to register a Hangeul font on the Instagram short-form video editing app ‘Edits.’ Starting October 9th, all app users worldwide can freely use this new font.
The ‘ZEN SERIF’ font was released to promote the beauty of Hangeul worldwide, incorporating traditional aesthetics and modern sensibilities as part of Jennie’s and OA Entertainment’s identity. Its release on Hangeul Day makes it even more meaningful.
Jennie’s initiative is particularly notable as it marks the first font release by an entertainment agency, leaving a fresh impression both domestically and internationally.

Following this, Park Bo Gum appeared on October 9th at the SBS Power FM Cultwo Show studio, garnering attention for his distinctive outfit. To commemorate Hangeul Day, he wore a unique white jacket featuring Hangeul printing extending from the shoulders to the sleeves, drawing praise for his thoughtful gesture.
Recently, Park Bo Gum was selected as the first male artist for the ‘Hanbok Wave’ project, spearheaded by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Craft & Design Foundation. He has not only appeared in various events wearing Hanbok-inspired attire but also recently had a Hanbok pictorial displayed on a billboard in New York’s Times Square, widely promoting the charm of Hanbok overseas.

Kim Nam Gil collaborated with Professor Seo Kyung Deok of Sungshin Women’s University to donate educational supplies to the Monterrey Korean School in Mexico on Hangeul Day. This marks his fourth donation, following initial contributions to the Grutogi Korean School in New York, USA, the Can-Nam Sadang Korean Cultural School in Vancouver, Canada, and Hangeul Baeumteo in Budapest, Hungary.
