Netflix’s latest Korean thriller Wall to Wall is making serious noise—both onscreen and on the charts.

Released on July 18th, Wall to Wall skyrocketed to No. 3 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 (non-English) list in just three days, racking up 6.4 million views. The film also entered the Top 10 rankings in 40 countries, including South Korea, Japan, France, and Hong Kong.

Starring Kang Ha Neul, Wall to Wall follows Woo Sung, a young homeowner who’s finally secured his own place by maxing out every financial resource. But Woo Sung’s hard-earned dream turns into a nightmare when he becomes tormented by mysterious, untraceable upstairs noise, triggering a psychological spiral.

Rooted in the all-too-relatable issue of apartment noise complaints, Wall to Wall weaves that everyday problem into a tightly-wound psychological thriller packed with claustrophobic tension and unsettling unpredictability, earning rave reviews both at home and abroad.

TIME called it “a modern parable about the perils of class ambition,” drawing comparisons to Parasite and Squid Game. Decider noted, “Sure, ‘Wall to Wall’ comes a bit too close to being a Parasite clone, but you have to respect its ambition and relatively versatile visual storytelling.” Gulf News described it as “a tense, paranoia-fueled mystery that cuts way too close to home,” while Tom’s Guide wrote, “The movie’s real strength lies in turning all-too-familiar frustrations, like noisy neighbors, financial strain, and apartment life stress, into a gripping exploration of mental unraveling and social isolation.”

Korean critics echoed that praise. JoyNews24 dubbed it “a terrifyingly immersive experience,” while Yonhap News called it “a spine-chillingly realistic apartment-noise thriller.” The Fact highlighted the film’s emotional pull, stating, “Its message and performances pull you in before you even realize it.” Asia Today pointed out the way the film “uses apartment noise as a gateway to reveal the raw truth behind Korea’s housing crisis and unchecked ambition.”

In addition to Kang Ha Neul’s compelling lead performance, critics also praised supporting turns from Yum Hye Ran and Seo Hyun Woo, with NewsPim writing, “Their acting brings intensity to the film.”
