Gong Hyo Jin has revealed plans to relocate to the United States following her husband Kevin Oh’s upcoming discharge from mandatory military service.
In a recent video on her YouTube channel “SKYKONGKONGKONG,” the beloved actress answered questions from fans, including one about her travel plans for 2025. “I actually already have travel plans for 2025,” Gong shared. “I’ll be visiting Belgium, then Germany, Amsterdam, before finally heading to New York.”
When the production staff commented on the extensive itinerary, Gong clarified, “I’m visiting several places I haven’t been to before.” She then casually dropped the news that caught everyone’s attention: “And then I need to go to America to prepare. I need to get ready to live there.”
The production team quickly put two and two together, asking about the timing in relation to her husband’s military service. With a smile, Gong confirmed, “We’re heading out the moment he’s discharged.”
When discussing her travel preferences, Gong explained her ENFP personality influences her choices: “I don’t go to famous spots. Despite visiting New York so many times, I still haven’t seen the Statue of Liberty. Should I go see it? I’m not the typical tourist type. I prefer wandering around casually like a local, just hanging out in one neighborhood.”
Gong Hyo Jin married singer Kevin Oh, who is 10 years her junior, in October 2022 in New York. Oh began his mandatory military service in December 2023 and is scheduled to be discharged this June.
