WINNER’s Mino has admitted to most of the allegations regarding his unauthorized departure from his workplace while serving as a social service worker.

During his alternative service period, Song Mino was embroiled in allegations of neglecting duty and was investigated by the police. Authorities confirmed that he had left his workplace during working hours and are conducting an investigation based on the evidence they have.

During a press briefing on March 31st, a National Police Agency official said, “We’ve questioned Song Mino three times and carried out searches and telecom investigations. Based on these, we’ll decide if charges are justified.” The official added, “Song Mino has mostly admitted to leaving his workplace during work hours.”

Additionally, the police plan to conclude their investigation by analyzing CCTV footage and other evidence obtained through a search of the Mapo-gu community facility where Song Mino was assigned. The Military Manpower Administration stated that his discharge from service could be revoked depending on the investigation results and that he may have to serve additional time for the period in question.

Mino had been serving as a social service worker from March 2023 to December 2024. However, reports surfaced claiming that he had not properly fulfilled his duties. He was accused of frequently taking leave, including vacation days, annual leave and sick leave. As a result, police launched an investigation upon receiving a formal request and booked him for further inquiry.

The facility where he worked reportedly recorded attendance manually, making it susceptible to falsification at the discretion of the supervisor.

In response, YG Entertainment stated, “We are unable to confirm details regarding the artist’s service,” but clarified, “The sick leave was an extension of treatment he had been receiving before his service, and all other leave was used in accordance with regulations.”
