A cryptic social media post by late singer-actress Sulli’s older brother has sparked intense speculation online, with many interpreting it as a veiled jab at Kim Soo Hyun.
On March 23rd, Sulli’s brother—referred to as A—shared a post on his private account that read, “Your life, my life, everyone’s life is so ‘real,'” referencing the 2017 film Real, which starred Kim Soo Hyun and featured Sulli in one of her final screen roles. The two played on-screen lovers in the noir action film, which made headlines at the time for its risqué scenes.
The post gained traction not only for the reference to Real but because of its timing—days after A had posted a string of messages widely believed to be directed at Kim Soo Hyun. One comment in particular under A’s post read, “Is the initial SH?”—to which he responded by hitting the like button, further fueling speculation.
As speculation mounted that A was targeting Kim Soo Hyun, comments flooded in, ranging from criticism to demands for clarity: “If you’re not going to explain it properly, don’t say anything,” “A carelessly thrown stone kills a frog,” and “Stop stirring up unnecessary controversy.”
A continued addressing the situation in subsequent posts, saying, “How is it that people who claim to be fans are the least helpful? I never even mentioned the name Soo Hyun, but here you all are, rushing in without checking the facts.” He added, “I’ve spent years living off one sentence: ‘It couldn’t be helped.'”
He added, “Don’t scratch at wounds for no reason. Just move along. And honestly, aren’t you the ones dragging my sister’s name back into the headlines again? That annoys the hell out of me.” He didn’t stop there. In a separate comment, he remarked, “Who’s really a fan in this situation? From where I’m standing, you all look like a bunch of people just tearing apart everything they see.”
Meanwhile, the YouTube channel Hoverlab teased an additional exposé targeting Kim Soo Hyun. “What we’re about to reveal is massive,” they claimed. “Kim Soo Hyun isn’t just someone who dated a middle schooler but a total sexual pervert. Compared to Nth Room? This isn’t even comparable.”
