Koo Jun Yup, aka DJ Koo, is reportedly struggling with his health as he deals with the devastating loss of his wife, the late Barbie Hsu.
According to recent reports from Taiwanese media, “DJ Koo was spotted at a restaurant with two friends, but he was unable to swallow food and appeared noticeably thinner.” The report continued, “While in this difficult physical and emotional state, he has had to make practical decisions regarding his wife’s remains, inheritance issues, and debt resolution, with people around him helping him through it.”
Friends of the grieving husband have reportedly traveled to Taiwan to stay with him during this difficult period.
Meanwhile, on March 7th, DJ Koo’s mother-in-law took to social media to process her own heartbreak, sharing the poignant message that she’s trying to “keep her grief to herself” – all while revealing a touching song “Diamond” her daughter had recorded before her untimely passing.
Barbie Hsu passed away on February 2nd from acute pneumonia caused by influenza while on a family vacation in Japan. DJ Koo first met Barbie Hsu in 1998 while performing with his group Clon in Taiwan. The two developed a romantic relationship but broke up after about a year. In 2022, 23 years after their initial meeting, DJ Koo reconnected with Hsu, and they officially registered their marriage, officially tying the knot.
