BTS member J-Hope revealed his LA residence on I Live Alone, while also teasing updates about his 12 billion KRW (about 8.3 million USD) penthouse move in Korea. The episode delivered the show’s highest ratings moment.
J-Hope made his first appearance on MBC’s I Live Alone on the 28th. According to Nielsen Korea, the program recorded 8.0% viewership in the Seoul metropolitan area, ranking first in its time slot. J-Hope claimed the highest-rated minute of the episode, with viewership soaring to 9.6% during scenes where he enthusiastically reacted to his first drive-thru hamburger experience and made his confident order at a butcher shop.
The episode showcased J-Hope’s spacious American home in LA, where he’s currently working on music. “This is where I’m staying while working on music,” J-Hope explained, adding, “I’m working on an important single.”
Panelists watching the footage also expressed curiosity about “his Korean home.” According to previous real estate industry reports, J-Hope owns two units in the luxury AFER HANGANG apartment complex in Seoul’s Yongsan district. He reportedly purchased a penthouse worth approximately 12 billion KRW and acquired the unit directly below it for a similar price.
J-Hope explained, “I was recently working in America, and during that period, I was preparing to move.” Host Jun Hyun Moo responded optimistically, “He’s leaving the possibility open to showcase his Korean home once it’s ready,” expressing hope for a follow-up visit. J-Hope unexpectedly agreed to the invitation, saying, “Okay,” and added, “The atmosphere here is passionate and fun.”
Next week’s episode will feature J-Hope drawing inspiration for his music work and meeting with producer Benny Blanco.
