Koo Jun Yeop’s friends have expressed their condolences following the recent passing of his wife, Barbie Hsu.
Designer Lee Sang Bong shared on social media, “I saw an article saying that Barbie Hsu had passed away from pneumonia in Japan, and I thought it was fake news. As multiple media outlets reported it, I was so shocked that I sent a message to Koo Jun Yeop, asking if it was true and if he was okay.”
He continued, “I didn’t get a reply, so I called Kang Won Rae, but he also hadn’t heard back. Late at night, I finally received a message from Koo Jun Yeop. He said, ‘I saw your message late. I’m holding up as best as I can.’”
Lee Sang Bong added, “Stay strong, Jun Yeop. My deepest condolences to Barbie Hsu. He must be in shock right now, but I can’t help but worry about the pain that may come later, knowing his personality. I don’t know what words could truly bring comfort, but I hope he finds strength during this difficult time.”
Earlier, several Taiwanese media outlets, including the Central News Agency, reported that Barbie Hsu had passed away from acute pneumonia while traveling in Japan.
Barbie Hsu’s younger sister, Dee Hsu, released an official statement through her agency announcing her sister’s passing. She stated, “During the Lunar New Year holiday, our entire family traveled to Japan. My most beloved and precious sister contracted influenza and passed away due to pneumonia.”
She added, “I am grateful to have lived this life as her younger sister, taking care of each other and sharing so many moments together. I will forever be thankful to her and will always miss her.”
