Boy group M.O.N.T are one of the few K-Pop groups to have survived the coronavirus outbreak back in 2020 after debuting in 2019. Despite the hurdles, the group has risen to the top and continues to show their dedication to fans, MINT, across the globe.
Members Bitsaeon, Narachan, and Roda debuted with a hyper and dance-heavy track titled “Will You Be My Girlfriend” alongside the album Going Up under FM Entertainment. Since then, M.O.N.T has continued to release a plethora of colorful songs throughout the years such as “IDGAF” and “Shadow.” Now the rowdy, lovable boys have returned with “OMW” (On My Way) and a new 5th mini album titled Somewhere Out There which showcases M.O.N.T’s appearance as a band.
The members were engaging as they shared their honest answers with ZAPZEE for an exclusive interview. From how they each personally changed over the years to even what they would put in a time capsule, M.O.N.T indulged in our amusing questions and even prepared a special video message for their lovely fans MINT. Check out their official fan greeting video and exclusive interview down below.
Q. It has been a long time since we saw M.O.N.T through a new MV. Tell us about your new song ‘OMW’ and the MV.
Roda: The new song has a more bright and cheerful atmosphere, however, the lyrics have a deeper message to them regarding past regrets and the future and living in the now.
Bitsaeon: The lyrics encourage fans to keep on going ahead when things are hard. As if “I will go alongside you.”
Narachan: Yes, wherever you go, we will be there together.
Q. You have filmed so many MVs over the past six years – which MV has been a member’s personal favorite?
Bitsaeon: Personally, I really loved “IDGAF” – it is a fun song and video!
Narachan: Yes, I love “IDGAF” too. We got to act out a lot of funny scenes and I’m really grateful to all the actors and extras who appeared to support our MV, it was really fun.
Q. Tell us about your 5th Mini Album ‘Somewhere Out There’ – what is the message prepared for this album? Is there a song you highly recommend from the album?
Bitsaeon: We want fans to go into the same direction and light with us. To pursue our dreams hand in hand. We want to lead the way and go forward together.
Roda: I want to recommend a song fans can really enjoy, which is “Speed.”
Narachan & Bitsaeon: Yes, “Speed!”
Roda: It is really a great and powerful song that is perfect for working out with, I think. I don’t personally exercise but I think it’ll be a great match.
Q. Was there ever a concept the members thought was difficult to do or they didn’t like doing?
Bitsaeon: For me, personally, Hip Hop seems really hard. It is not a music genre I listen to very often so if I have to perform it, it seems quite difficult for me.
Roda: As for me, I enjoy rap and hip hop so I feel more comfortable in that music style. Compared to Bitsaeon who works confidently with pop songs and ballads.
Narachan: Together we are a perfect harmony.
Q. How have things changed since your debut? How do you think you have changed personally since your debut?
Narachan: For me – I’m getting old. But I think I have gotten more sexy, or manly – haha! Since debut we used to be focused on dance but now we are performing more as a band. Our performances have changed a lot. I think personally I have changed more physically than anything else.
Roda: When we debuted we had little to no experience and were very nervous as well. But now, we have done many live broadcasts, stages, and feel more comfortable.
Bitsaeon: Personally, I am learning more about myself. My strengths, my weaknesses, what am I better at, what am I more interested in, etc.
Q. Do you have any new personal goals for 2025?
Bitsaeon: We really want to hold our own stage festival.
Narachan: As a group, being on stage at the MAMA Awards would be amazing. Personally, I want to be better at speaking English as well.
Roda: Similar to Bitsaeon, I want to hold a festival or many stage performances with our fans.
Q. What K-Dramas are you recently watching?
Bitsaeon: Of course, we finished Squid Game Season 2.
Narachan: I didn’t see it but I heard it was fun. I plan to watch it when I have time.
Bitsaeon: I’ve been watching a popular drama on Netflix also called The Tale of Lady OK and it is really good. I highly recommend it.

Q. Is there currently an Instagram meme or funny TikTok trend you all enjoy lately?
Narachan: Yes, I have been wanting to try the one where you have to have perfect English pronunciation or sing really well for the shapes or colors to match and go through the obstacles.
Bitsaeon: Should we try them?
Q. If you could put anything into a time capsule and open it 10 years later what would you put in it and why?
Roda: Because we would open this time capsule 10 years in the future, I would put all of the letters I received from MINT. I can cherish their love in the future.
Narachan: This is hard to think about… I feel like I have something but I’m not sure! Ahh!
Bitsaeon: I really cannot decide. It is very important so I’m not sure what I should pick.
Q. In our last interview, you said you love bread from France. What about putting in your favorite bread from France?
Bitsaeon: Would it even survive? Haha, maybe I should put in Kimchi?
Although many great interviews must come to an end, Bitsaeon, Narachan, and Roda shared many laughs with us and took the time to be reflective about all they have accomplished so far. From being the first idols to film on the Liancourt Rocks, aka Dokdo, in Korea to their outstanding performances on Mix Nine and abroad, M.O.N.T has done various things many K-Pop groups could only dream off! However, it wouldn’t be possible without their adoring fans MINT.
Q. Is there a final message you want to leave for your fans?
Narachan: This interview was very fun. During our time as idols, I want to say how grateful and thankful I am to our fans, MINT. Of course, I love them. I have a lot of thoughts when I think about our fans.
Bitsaeon: In this year M.O.N.T will prepare more music and stages for fans. No matter where they are, we love MINT.
Roda: During our breaks, we thank you for still loving and waiting for M.O.N.T. In the future, M.O.N.T will create more cool and fun music, performances, and things for fans so please anticipate it.
