Nam Joo Hyuk and Golden Child’s Y are officially discharged from the military today, September 19th.
Nam Joo Hyuk served as an active-duty soldier in the 32nd Infantry Division’s Military Police, while Y was part of the 5th Artillery Brigade. Both received their basic military training as squad leaders at the Nonsan Training Center and have now returned to their fans after fulfilling their duties.
Y shared his thoughts on the experience, saying, “It feels like just yesterday I enlisted, and now I’m already being discharged. I served with the mindset of being a soldier protecting the country, and it was a time that allowed me to feel gratitude for the people and things I love.”
He went on to thank his fans, Goldenness, adding, “I want to say how grateful I am for the support that helped me get through the lonely times. I missed you all so much. There were many changes to the team during my service, but I’m coming back with a stronger and more determined heart to give back to you.”
Nam Joo Hyuk is set to meet fans again through his upcoming drama Donggung (literal title). Meanwhile, Y will host a live stream on Golden Child’s official YouTube channel on September 20th to reconnect with fans.
