After Shin Woo Seok, the director behind NewJeans’ “Ditto” and “ETA” music videos, shared his difficulties working with ADOR, the company has issued a strong rebuttal to his claims.
On September 2nd, Shin Woo Seok of Dolphiners Films posted on his personal channel, saying, “There seems to be a change in ADOR’s policies since the management changed. Due to ADOR’s request, all NewJeans music videos and related content that Dolphiners Films had worked on and uploaded, including to-be-released videos, can no longer be made public.”
He further explained that the Dolphiners Films and Ban Heesoo YouTube channels are operated primarily for portfolio archiving purposes and do not generate any revenue. He expressed regret over not being able to continue with planned projects with NewJeans due to these changes.
In response, ADOR released a statement on the 3rd, clarifying the situation: “The director’s cut of the ‘ETA’ music video, uploaded on Dolphiners Films’ SNS channel, included edits that had previously been a point of contention with advertisers and was posted without agreement from the advertisers.” They emphasized, “All copyrights for NewJeans’ music videos and related works are contractually owned by ADOR, including edited materials like the director’s cut. Such content must be posted on our official channels to protect the rights of the artists.”
ADOR also denied the claims that they demanded all videos related to NewJeans be deleted or that their channel policies had changed, stating, “We only requested the removal of the director’s cut video. There was no demand for deleting or suspending uploads on channels like Ban Heesoo. ADOR’s channel operation policies have not changed.”
Furthermore, ADOR announced plans to ensure that the deleted NewJeans content would be re-uploaded on ADOR’s official channels.
