AfreecaTV streamer Juice Seyeon has directly addressed the rumors about her relationship with HYBE Chairman Bang Si Hyuk.
Seyeon took to a live stream on August 11th, wearing the outfit that had recently made headlines. “Hey everyone, it’s Juice Seyeon, who became a nationwide sensation in just a month. There were even articles about me in the US. I guess you could say Juice Seyeon is a global star now.”
She then addressed the rumors about her trip to the US with HYBE Chairman Bang Si Hyuk. She explained, “How do I know Chairman Bang? Last year, someone pretending to be from HYBE sent me a direct message. They were saying some strange things, so I asked my sister, who knows Chairman Bang, to ask if he worked with this person. But that person turned out to be a scammer. So, HYBE filed a police complaint and that person is now in prison.”

Regarding the reports about her meeting with Bang Si Hyuk in the US “by chance,” she clarified, “How could we have met him by chance in the US? That’s nonsense. The whole ‘meeting by chance’ thing is not true.” She explained, “My sister and I wanted to try this really popular restaurant, but it was impossible to get a reservation. Since my sister knows Chairman Bang because of the scammer incident, she asked him for help. He was kind enough to offer to go with us since his presence would guarantee us a table. It’s a super hot spot that’s almost impossible to get into without a connection.”
The streamer also clarified the photos taken by Bang Si Hyuk, saying, “I had no idea about the photos until I saw them online. I was in the bathroom because I wasn’t feeling well when Chairman Bang, being the gentleman he is, took the pictures. I didn’t know a thing. He even helped me find the best spot to pose, but it’s actually my sister in the photo.”
Finally, Juice Seyeon addressed the viral ‘crosswalk’ photo. “So, this whole crosswalk photo thing turned me into a bit of an overnight sensation,” she said. “It actually helped promote Netflix’s The Influencer and brought in a lot of new viewers. I guess you could say it was a blessing in disguise.” She laughed, adding, “There were even articles claiming I made 3 billion won a year. I mean, I’m not complaining!”
She concluded, “Chairman Bang only helped us that day. He’s busy, and it’s not like he can follow us around. I was nervous thinking, ‘Could this really happen?’ But I’m grateful. I think there’s no one in Korea who doesn’t know me now. My mom knows, my dad knows, and even my grandfather probably knows.”
