Ji Chang Wook shared thoughts on portraying a somewhat petty villain in his upcoming movie.
A press conference for the film Revolver was held at Megabox Coex in Seoul on July 31st. Jeon Do Yeon, Ji Chang Wook, Lim Ji Yeon and director Oh Seung Uk attended the event.
Revolver tells the story of Soo Young, an ex-police officer who embarks on a single-minded goal upon leaving jail, after serving a sentence for crimes committed under dubious circumstances. The film marks the reunion of Oh Seung Uk and Jeon Do Yeon after their successful collaboration on The Shameless.
Jeon Do Yeon plays the role of Soo Young, who is determined to receive the compensation she was promised. Ji Chang Wook portrays Andy, who breaks his promise and sets Soo Young in motion. Lim Ji Yeon appears as Yoon Seon, a mysterious helper of Soo Young.
At the press event, Ji Chang Wook shared, “Seventy percent of Andy’s lines involve cursing. I thought it was a good way to show who he is, so I really played up the swearing. I felt the vulgar language would capture his personality very well, especially his insecurity.“
He continued, “I wanted Andy to stand out. Working with the director and the rest of the cast, we ended up creating some really interesting scenes. It wasn’t planned, but I think they turned out great. had a lot of fun on set.”

Revolver is scheduled to be released in South Korean theaters on August 7th.
