After completing his military service, Kang Tae Oh is gearing up to charm fans once again, this time by confirming his role in the upcoming tvN drama Potato Research Institute (literal title).

According to an OSEN report on the 18th, Kang Tae Oh has decided to grace the small screen in Potato Research Institute, marking his first project post-discharge. The drama reunites the Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung crew, writer Kim Ho Soo and director Kang Il Soo, hinting at another successful collaboration. Kang Tae Oh’s decision to dive straight into ㅁ a new project indicates his eagerness to resume his acting career without pause.

Set against the backdrop of a secluded potato research institute, Potato Research Institute promises a blend of romance and comedy. Kang Tae Oh will portray the outsider protagonist, known for his impeccable visuals and surprising depth.

Before enlisting, Kang Tae Oh captivated hearts as the sweet and caring male lead Lee Jun Ho in Extraordinary Attorney Woo. The series, peaking at a 17.5% viewership rating nationwide (according to Nielsen Korea), propelled the actor to stardom. However, a month after the series concluded in September 2022, Kang Tae Oh bid a temporary farewell to his fans to fulfill his military duty, enlisting in the 37th Infantry Division. Following basic training, he served the remainder of his duty as a drill instructor.

Meanwhile, Potato Research Institute is slated for a 2024 release on tvN.
