Acclaimed screenwriter Kim Eun Hee confirmed the exciting news of a second season for Signal.
Writer Kim Eun Hee’s agency, Media Lab Siso, confirmed to iMBC Entertainment on March 14th that she’s currently developing Season 2 of the hit drama.
The news of Signal Season 2’s production was first mentioned by Kim Eun Hee herself during a lecture at La Sapienza University in Italy yesterday. The production is reportedly underway in collaboration with Bient Entertainment, Kim’s partners on SBS drama Revenant.
In 2021, the writer expressed her willingness to produce a sequel to Signal in a media interview. She said, “There are still stories left to tell. I will try my best to show them before I retire.”
Signal first aired in 2016. It follows detectives from the present and past who connect through a walkie-talkie and reinvestigate old unsolved cases. Starring Lee Je Hoon, Kim Hye Soo, and Cho Jin Woong, the show left a lasting impression with its gripping story, and fans have been eagerly requesting a sequel since its conclusion.
