EXO’s Xiumin and WJSN’s Exy are set to star in the new drama Restaurant Heo (literal title), a time-travel fantasy romance comedy. Based on the web novel of the same name, the show is already creating a buzz among fans.
Xiumin will portray Heo Kyun, a recognized genius of the Joseon era with exceptional writing skills and aesthetic sense. He’s the kind of guy who knows he’s exceptional and has the curiosity of a kid. He faces exile and, upon hearing that his seven friends have been falsely accused of treason, he flees. His character’s journey becomes intriguing as he narrowly escapes death by assassins and ends up in modern times.
Exy will play Eun Sil, the daughter of a modest eatery with not even a signboard. A staunch realist, Eun Sil believes running a small restaurant like her mother’s is nothing but a fruitless endeavor. She is characterized by her inability to tolerate injustice and her need to voice the truth. Eun Sil initially sees the time-displaced Heo Kyun, who appears as a homeless man, as a nuisance.
Lee Sae On and Lee Soo Min will each play dual roles, depicting characters from both the past and present. Lee Seon plays the ambitious Lee Yi Cheom, who stops at nothing to achieve his goals, and Lee Hyuk, a young culinary genius. Lee Su Min portrays the beautiful Maechang and Jung Mi Sol, a child actor turned actress with a secret.
The production team shared, “The drama promises great fun as it narrates the adventures of Heo Kyun, who accidentally time-travels to the present day. We are excited for the audience to see the chemistry between Xiumin, Exy, Lee Seon, and Lee Su Min, each carrying their unique stories.”
Meanwhile, Restaurant Heo is co-produced by WHYNOT MEDIA, Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures, and Corpus Japan, with plans to air within the year. WHYNOT MEDIA aims to expand its global and Japanese ventures further with Restaurant Heo.
