Gong Myung appeared as a guest on SBS PowerFM’s Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time on the 26th, where he discussed the release of his new movie Citizen of a Kind. During the show, a listener brought up his younger brother, NCT’s Doyoung, prompting Gong Myung to share some endearing stories.
Gong Myung mentioned that Doyoung’s fans affectionately call him “brother-in-law.” He said, “I wanted to invite Doyoung to the premiere, but he couldn’t make it due to his overseas performance schedule.” He added with a laugh, “I always ask him carefully because I know how busy he is.”
Choi Hwa Jung commented on how proud their parents must be, to which Gong Myung agreed, saying his parents are indeed grateful. When asked playfully who the parents favor more, Gong Myung admitted, “They might be a bit more partial towards my younger brother.”
He shared that Doyoung, often being abroad, is usually the first to receive their mother’s home-cooked meals. In response to Choi Hwa Jung’s comment about him being more like the youngest, Gong Myung agreed, “I tend to be more affectionate, while Doyoung has a more reliable side.”
Continuing the conversation, Gong Myung revealed, “Doyoung monitors my press photos and suggests hairstyles that would suit me,” impressing the host and the listeners with their close bond.
One listener asked if Gong Myung wore the watch Doyoung had gifted him. He regretfully replied, “I overslept a bit this morning and forgot to wear it.” He also shared a backstory about the watch, saying, “I usually don’t wear watches, but I really like Johnny’s watch, so I asked Doyoung where I could purchase one. And Doyoung just bought it for me.” He jokingly added, “I give him love in return.”
