Lee Sun Kyun‘s agency, HODU&U Entertainment, has issued a statement in response to drug allegations directed at the actor.
The agency expressed deep concern about the reports and apologized for any distress they may have caused.
The statement read, “We apologize for any concerns caused by the recent reports related to our artist Lee Sun Kyun. We are currently in the process of verifying the accuracy of the allegations and are committed to cooperating with any investigations.”
The statement also revealed that the actor had taken legal action against an individual identified as “A,” who is apparently connected to the ongoing situation. “Lee Sun-kyun has been subjected to continuous harassment and threats from this individual, which made him to report the issue to the police,” the agency said. “Further details related to this matter will be communicated through legal representatives.”
Additionally, the agency expressed they will respond firmly to any malicious or false information being circulated about the actor. “If there are any posts or articles containing false or malicious content that could damage our client’s reputation, we will take strong measures to address these issues,” the statement noted.
The agency concluded its statement with another apology, saying, “We deeply regret any additional concern this situation has caused, and we ask for your understanding as we work through these issues.”
This development comes after the Incheon Police Narcotics Crime Investigation Division announced on the 19th of this month that they are investigating allegations of drug-related offenses, particularly violations of the drug control law, involving several individuals, including a prominent male actor in his 40s identified as “L” and seven others. These individuals are facing allegations of repeated marijuana use at various locations, including their residences and entertainment establishments, over the course of the last year.
As the investigation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the situation will evolve and whether further legal actions or developments will occur.
