Taeyang from BIGBANG shared his love story with Min Hyo Rin on tvN’s You Quiz on the Block.
The couple tied the knot in 2018, and Taeyang reminisced about the day when he first met his wife while filming his music video for “1AM.” He explained that he was looking for someone to star in his MV and contacted Hyo Rin through a friend who knew her as well.
She accepted his offer, and he offered her a meal as a token of appreciation. “While talking with her during the music video shoot, I felt we were hitting it off. Back then, I had no dating experience, so I was worried about being awkward while talking with a girl. However, she led the conversation well, and I felt at ease the whole time. After we said goodbye, I started contacting her and spending more time with her. I grew to like her so much that I eventually wanted to marry her,” he shared.
Taeyang revealed that he composed his hit song “Eyes, Nose, Lips” during his temporary breakup with Hyo Rin. He explained, “In hindsight, I realize that I was very inexperienced with dating and didn’t always handle things well. It must have been frustrating for her. During our temporary breakup, I wrote a song about my feelings for her, and that’s how “Eyes, Nose, Lips” came about.”
The song ultimately brought them back together, and he said that he had her listen to it, telling her, “This is the song about how I felt about you,” and that she loved it.
It’s worth noting that Taeyang appeared on KBS’ Yoo Hee-yeol’s Sketchbook in 2014 and revealed that the longing for his ex-lover inspired him to write the lyrics for “Eyes, Nose, Lips.”
