Hwang In Youop and DIA’s former member Jung Chaeyeon are reportedly teaming up for the new drama Assembled Family (literal title), according to iMBC.
Assembled Family is based on the hit Chinese drama Go Ahead. It begins with the story of three non-blood-related kids who, while holding onto the wounds they received from their parents, lean on each other during their teenage years. When they reunite ten years later, the drama explores themes of family love, romance, and friendship.
Go Ahead gained massive popularity when it aired in China in 2020, making stars of actors Song Weilong, Zhang Xincheng, and Tan Songyun. The show also captured the attention of South Korean audiences, building a solid fan base when it aired in Korea. The addition of Hwang In Youp and Jung Chaeyeon as a fresh combination is expected to create a golden lineup for the production.
Meanwhile, Hwang In Youp debuted in 2018 and has since appeared in popular dramas such as 18 Again, True Beauty, and Why Her. Jung Chaeyeon debuted as a member of the group DIA in 2015. She has also built up her acting career through dramas like The King’s Affection and The Golden Spoon.
