K-pop superstars BTS have proven to be more than just chart-toppers, having donated a staggering $7.58 million to various charitable causes.

The most recent donation came from member Jungkook, who gave $758,477 to Seoul National University Children’s Hospital for the benefit of sick children and their families. The superstar said in a press release, “I hope my donation can help sick children, and I hope to see them smile and be happy in good health.”

In January 2017, BTS donated $75,840 to the Association of Bereaved Families of the Sewol Ferry Disaster. Each individual member and their agency, Big Hit Music, donated $7,584 and $22,752, respectively. Since then, the K-pop sensation has raised $3.98 million globally as of October 2022 for UNICEF’s campaign to end violence against children and young people.

Even during the height of the pandemic, BTS and their label continued their philanthropy by donating $1 million to Black Lives Matter, an anti-racism campaign.

Additionally, BTS and their agency donated $1 million to Live Nation to provide relief support to global live concert crews who have been facing financial difficulties due to the pandemic.
