Jimin from BTS has just made history by topping the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart with his very first solo album. He’s now the first Korean solo artist to ever achieve this incredible feat. Jimin himself even expressed disbelief after hearing the news that he’s now ranked No.1 on the Hot 100 chart.

During a live broadcast, the singer also shared some behind-the-scenes stories about his debut solo album, which features the track “Like Crazy.”

Jimin shared that he faced a difficult time before starting his solo album. “I spent a lot of time talking with my bandmates from March to April, and I was feeling pretty down about myself. The idea for the album came about because my fellow members wanted me to try creating a solo song during that period,” he explained. According to reports, his father was also concerned about his son’s first album. “My dad just called me and said he was proud. When I played the album for him, he got emotional if the lyrics were sad and even shed some tears. But I never expected the album to receive such an overwhelming amount of love,” he expressed joyfully.

Jimin’s fellow BTS members expressed their happiness and congratulated him on his achievement. J-Hope even called him right away to share his excitement. He also showed gratitude towards the producers who worked with him on his solo album, mentioning that they were all emotional about its success and reached out to him.

The star also gave credit to his fans for his accomplishment, saying, “I am extremely grateful because I didn’t expect such results. I believe that I am where I am today because of the overwhelming love and support we have received as BTS. I am aware of the immense love and support I’ve been receiving, and I promise to work even harder to grow and improve.”
