Cha Seung Won is making his comeback to a variety show after three years. This time, he’s teaming up with Director Bang Geul Yi, the former helmer of 2 Days & 1 Night Season 4.
Sources say that this new variety show takes the form of a road variety show, featuring the ancient Mayan civilization and the actor experiencing the life of indigenous people without a scripted plan. The intriguing meeting between Cha Seung Won and the fascinating yet unfamiliar ancient civilization is sure to pique viewers’ curiosity.
This marks Cha Seung Won’s first comeback since tvN’s Three Meals a Day: Fishing Village 5 in 2020. He previously garnered much love for his collaborations with star PD Na Young Suk and actor Yoo Hae Jin in hit shows Three Meals a Day and Korean Hostel in Spain.
Director Bang Geul Yi, a former KBS producer who recently transferred to tvN, was acknowledged for successfully launching the fourth season of KBS’s representative show, 2 Days & 1 Night. This is her first show under CJ ENM.
A tvN official told Starnews on the 5th, “Cha Seung Won will be appearing on Bang Geul Yi’s new variety show,” but added, “As the show is still in its planning stage, the concept, scheduling, and airing date are still undecided.”
