Yim Si Wan shared what it was like to play his second villain role during an interview for his latest Netflix movie Unlocked.
Amazingly enough, movie Unlocked will mark his second villain role following his latest Cannes movie Emergency Declaration. He shared, “Although the two movies were shot at different times, their release dates got pushed back due to the pandemic and made me look like I booked two villain roles in a row. That’s not the case, and I don’t necessarily like playing villains in movies.”
The actor revealed that he gave a lot of thought to joining the movie’s cast. He said, “I loved the shocking plot twist and the amazing script. However, I didn’t think the character would have a good influence on people. That’s why I initially declined the role offer.”
“I didn’t know whether I should accept the offer or not because of its compelling story and socially controversial theme. But after declining the offer, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. So, I ended up saying yes to it.”
The star also shared how he approached his character in the film. He said, ““I wanted to portray my character like everything he did was like a joke to him. I wished to show that a simple joke can ruin other people’s lives.”
