Kim Ok Bin shared what it was like starring in a romantic comedy series for the first time in her acting career at a press event for Netflix’s Love to Hate You.
The event was attended by director Kim Jung Kwon, Kim Ok Bin, Teo Yoo and Kim Ji Hoon.
Kim Ok Bin introduced the drama series as a war-like romance between a woman who desperately hates losing to men and a man who is extremely suspicious of women.
Regarding her character, she explained, “Yeo Mi Ran is a woman who extremely hates to be protected, so she learns martial arts to become physically strong. She does not trust men but enjoys being in a relationship.”
She revealed, “I was fed up with the kind of roles I’ve been playing so far, and I read the script for this project when I was looking for something different. It was my first time reading an entire script in one sitting without haveing to think too much or receiving too much stress. So, I thought I had met a good project at the right time. I chose to star in the work, hoping the character would be the brightest role in my filmography.”
She also shared what to look for in the drama, saying, “It’s a heart-warming drama about respecting and understanding others, and there are many good lines in the show. I am pretty sure that many viewers will relate to its beautiful story.”
