Lee Sun Kyun and Moon Chae Won are returning with an exhilarating revenge series.
On the 8th, SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama Payback released photos of the first table read. Payback tells the story of the money-maker Eun Yong (Lee Sun Kyun) and the legal technician Jun Kyung (Moon Chae Won). Together, they refuse to remain silent in front of unrighteous power and fiercely fight against it in their own way. The show is produced by Descendants of the Sun writer Kim Won Suk and The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil director Lee Won Tae.
Lee Sun Kyun will step into the role of Eun Yong, who stakes everything in revenge to restore the dignity he lost after being sacrificed in insider trading. Starring opposite him is Moon Chae Won as Major Park Joon Kyung. She was a righteous prosecutor, but she willingly became a monster to catch the monsters.
Kang You Seok turns into Eun Yong’s nephew and a hot-blooded young prosecutor who is thirsty for success. Park Hoon plays the role of Hwan Ki Seok, an elite prosecutor who doesn’t hesitate to collude with the enemy to climb up the ladder.
The production team shared, “The energy and synergy of the actors that unfolded within the swirling narrative were just impressive. Without losing the tension unique to the work, actors burst out their special energy. Please look forward to it.”
Meanwhile, Payback premieres on January 6th as a follow-up of The First Responders.
