Netflix confirmed the December release of its highly-anticipated series The Glory.

The Glory tells the tale of a woman who puts an elaborate revenge scheme in motion to make the perpetrators pay for their crimes years after surviving horrific abuse in high school.

The show is penned by the never-failing hitmaker Kim Eun Sook, whose credits include Descendants of the Sun, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, and Mr. Sunshine, and is helmed by Stranger director Ahn Gil Ho. The stellar cast – Song Hye Kyo, Lee Do Hyun, Lim Ji Yeon, Park Sung Hoon, and more – also add to the expectations.

On the 1st, Netflix dropped the first poster and motion poster that shows Song Hye Kyo sitting alone under a beautifully embroidered tree. The mysterious yet intense but lonely vibe she exudes shows Song Hye Kyo’s perfect transformation into Dong Eun. Her line “There will be no mercy. So, there will be no glory either” gives a glimpse into the true meaning of the revenge she’s painstakingly plotted for years.

The Glory is a drama that is more like a poem or a tragic myth – as Director Ahn explained, “It felt like well-crafted literature.” Expectations are rising rapidly for Kim Eun Sook’s first-ever revenge drama.

Meanwhile, The Glory will be released on Netflix on December 30th.
