BTS’ Jin will be starting out his military duty at the Korea Army Training Center next month.

Today, multiple outlets reported that Jin will enlist on December 13th at a recruit training center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province. After completing his five-week training, he will be serving in the front-line troops. An official shared, “BTS members have expressed their wish to send off Jin together, so they will be visiting Yeoncheon, where the recruit training center is located.”

Following the report, the singer took to his Weverse account to write, “News I did not intend to go public has been published, but ARMYs, you shouldn’t come to the training center. Many others will come to enlist, so it will be crowded there and could lead to potentially dangerous situations. I love you, ARMYs.”

Earlier on the 13th, one fan wrote on Weverse, “Are you excited about your birthday next month?” to which Ji responded, “No… (I got the call-up paper that said) I’ll be serving in the front-line troops.” Jin’s birthday is on December 4th.

Jin announced his military enlistment right after the BTS Busan concert. Born in 1992 (30 years old), Jin received a recommendation from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to postpone his enlistment in accordance with the 2020 revised Military Service Act, which pushed back his enlistment date to the end of this year. Starting with Jin, BTS members will enlist sequentially.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of National Defense announced that it would allow BTS members to participate in events for public or national interest even after joining the army.
