Shinhwa’s Shin Hye Sung was arrested on the charges of refusing to take a breathalyzer test.
According to Seoul Songpa Police Station, the celebrity was found asleep in a car this morning at the Tancheon 2-gyo bridge in the Songpa district of Seoul. They said the vehicle he was in had been reported as stolen and that he refused to comply with police when they ordered him to take a breathalyzer test.
In response to the reports, Shin Hye Sung’s label Liveworks Company issued the following statement: “Shin Hye Sung had a meeting with his friends at a restaurant in Gangnam district at around 11 PM on October 10th, following which he returned home after consuming alcohol and obtained the key to a vehicle from the valet attendant. He fell asleep as he stopped on the road on his way home, refused to take the breathalyzer test required by the police, and was detained. There is no excuse for Shin Hye Sung’s actions of driving under the influence and driving while unaware that the vehicle was not his. We would like to sincerely apologize to everyone.”
The star had also been charged with DUI in April 2007. Back then, his blood alcohol level was 0.097 percent, high enough to have his driver’s license revoked.
