On October 7th, HBO dropped the third teaser trailer for The Idol on its official Youtube channel.
The newly released clip shares a glimpse of how Jocelyn (played by Lily-Rose Depp) and Tedros’ (The Weekend) relationship begins, and the rest of the cast working their way up in the entertainment business. BLACKPINK’s Jennie comes in as she seemingly signs her own music contract with a label. The teaser ends with a scene where she takes a lift to go up stairs, heightening expectations for the upcoming series.
Soon after the teaser was uploaded, fans rushed to the comment section and wrote, “I will support Jennie even if she is a villain in this series,” “Can’t wait!” and “Jennie sure has a sweet and lovely smile.”
Helmed by The Weekend who also stars in the show, the new series will depict the complicated relationship between a rising pop star and a modern-day cult leader.
The Idol will premiere next year on HBO Max starring The Weekend, Lily-Rose Depp, Troye Sivan and more.
