IU will leave the cast of the upcoming drama, Money Game.

Reports say that Chun Woo Hee will be replacing IU in the upcoming thriller series.

Newly adapted from Bae Jin Soo’s webtoons Money Game and Pie Game, the next eight-part series will depict the story of a high-stakes game in which eight competitors are placed under severe conditions after being cut off from society. The participants try to collect and save as much money as they can before the game ends, which happens only when someone dies.

Director Han Jae Rim of Emergency Declaration, The King, and The Face Reader, will be in charge of writing the script and directing the OTT series. The drama is garnering a lot of attention for its star-studded cast, including Ryu Jun Yeol, Park Jung Min, Park Hae Joon, Bae Sung Woo, Moon Jung Hee, Lee Yeol Eum, and Lee Joo Young. Now that Chun Woo Hee has decided to hop on the project, anticipations are growing for the new action-packed thriller series.

Studio N of Sweet Home, Our Beloved Summer and Yumi’s Cells will team up with Magnum Nine behind The King and Emergency Declaration to produce the series. Lotte Culture Works will invest in and co-produce the project.
