Urban Myths, a movie that garnered quite an attention for starring some big-name K-pop idols, had its first screening and press conference on April 18th.
Director Hong Won Ki said, “The movie tells a collection of horror stories that we may have heard or experienced in our everyday lives. This movie is done in a 10-part omnibus form as there were many genres in horror which I found interesting.”
Regarding MONSTA X’s Shownu, who enlisted shortly after the film’s wrap, the director shared: “He had a very little experience in acting so, we put a lot of thought into his role together at the table read. As I saw him settling gradually into his role, I thought he could become a good actor in the near future.”
Golden Child’s Jaehyun expressed, “When my agency first told me that I got the role in this movie, I thought they were just playing a mean prank on me. Now I just want to thank the director for giving me this opportunity to star in this incredible film.”
Lovelyz’s Jisoo shared, “When I first saw myself on the screen, I could not believe that it was really going to happen. I put my heart and soul into the part I was given, and the director said that he was fascinated by the hard work and dedication. I hope that all of our hard work will pay off.”
SeloA commented, “I loved seeing my face on the screen. It was so exciting to try new things through acting.” Exy added, “I am a big fan of horror films, so just being able to appear in a horror film felt great and refreshing to me.” Oh My Girl’s Arin chimed in, “It was an incredible experience to see myself on screen. Since it’s my debut film, I hope many would like it.”
