IU graced the cover of the March issue of Marie Claire.
In the images from the photoshoot, IU wears a whimsical dress with the flowers surrounding her turning her into a vision of grace and elegance. Following the photo shoot, the artist opened up about what it is like turning thirty, describing it as a “heart-fluttering” moment. She said, “While I was watching year-end awards and the New Years’ countdown on TV at home, I felt a sense of excitement. In my late 20s, I was somewhat listless and bored, so it has been quite a while since I felt that kind of excitement. It enlightened me and gave me the confidence to try new things.”
When asked what she had planned with the newly-gained confidence, she replied, “I want to create a small studio that runs as a concert hall where I can produce songs or hold concerts with other artists.” She also revealed her goals to help children and young adults in need.
Additionally, IU shared her goals as an actress and musician. She is currently filming director Lee Byung Hun’s Dream (working title), following Hirokazu Kore-eda’s Broker (literal title). IU said, “I wish to be an actress whom the audience will gladly take their time to watch. As a musician, I hope to continue writing songs that intrigue the listeners.”
