BTS is continuing their record-breaking streak, selling more than 1 million copies of their Japanese compilation album BTS, THE BEST.
According to Oricon’s latest Weekly Albums chart released on the 6th, the group sold 3,000 copies of BTS, THE BEST in a week, from December 27th to January 2nd.
With this, the group has sold more than 1,002,000 copies of their Japanese album BTS, THE BEST, which was released the last June. This makes BTS the 14th foreign artist to achieve a million sales on �Oricon’s Weekly Albums chart.
The music platform announced, “This is the first time in 17 years and 9 months that a foreign male artist had surpassed 1 million album sales. The last act that achieved such a feat was British rock band Queen back in 2004.”
Previously, BTS, THE BEST topped Oricon’s Weekly Albums chart by selling more than 782,000 copies in the first week of its release. It was the highest first-week sales by any foreign male artist in the country.
