Kim Min Jae and Kim Hyang Gi are in talks for a new TV series Joseon Psychiatrist Yoo Se Poong (working title).On Monday, JTBC News reported that Kim Min Jae and Kim Hyang Gi will lead the new drama Joseon Psychiatrist Yoo Se Poong. To which the actor’s agencies YAMYAM Entertainment and JIKIM Entertainment responded that they are positively reviewing the offers.
Joseon Psychiatrist Yoo Se Poong is based on the novel of the same name that won the Excellence Award at the 2016 Korea Story Contest. It tells the story of a “mind doctor” who comforts the patients and their families living in the chaotic world. Attention rises about the story of a psychiatrist in the Joseon dynasty, which was rarely told.
If Kim Min Jae joins the project, he’ll be taking on his first-ever title role. The role he is in talks to play is Yoo Se Poong. Yoo Se Poong used to be the best acupuncturist who the royal family favored. But due to some reasons, he ends up suffering trauma every time he picks up the needle. In the meantime, Seo Eun Woo, the role Kim Hyang Gi was offered, goes from a helpless girl burdened by everyday life to a psychiatrist.
Meanwhile, Joseon Psychiatrist Yoo Se Poong will start filming in January to premiere in the second half of 2022.
