Disney Plus’s original series ‘Rookies‘ announced its stellar cast.
Rookies, set in the police university, is the new youth romance drama about the love and challenges of youth we want to support. They may be clumsy and full of mistakes, but the youth in their 20s shine brighter than anyone else. The aspiring rookies who will turn the police university upside down will be delightfully portrayed.
The Bride of Habaek and Nine: Nine Times Time Travel director Kim Byung Soo helms the production. Joining him in the crew is screenwriter Lee Ha Na. On top of everything, the show boasts a star-studded cast, including Kang Daniel, Chae Soo Bin, Lee Shin Young, Park Yoo Na, Kim Sang Ho, and more.
Making his debut as an actor, Kang Daniel will play Wi Seung Hyun, a man who has intelligence and a sense of justice. It seemed like he was on his way to becoming an elite police officer, but his campus life hits an unexpected turn as he gets involved with “troublemaker” Go Eun Kang. Chae Soo Bin will star opposite him as Go Eun Kang, a problematic freshman who entered the police university just to chase after her crush.
Lee Shin Young will turn into Kim Tak, a freshman who used to be in the national youth judo team. He will be in charge of showcasing the spirit and passion of youth. Kim Tak becomes the only friend of Wi Seung Hyun, who loves being alone, heralding the bromance between Lee and Kang. Additionally, Park Yoo Na takes on the role of Ki Han Na, who is at the top of her class. Park will realistically depict the growth of Han Na, a self-respecting and a realist.
Moreover, Park Sung Joon and Min Do Hee each play Yoo Dae In, police drama buff, and Woo Joo Young, who dreams of becoming a forensic scientist. Kim Woo Suk becomes Seo Beom Joo, a strict planner who is also a great dancer. In addition, Chun Young Min joins the cast as Shin Ah Ri, famous for her beauty.
Joining these rookie actors and rising stars are the numerous veteran actors. Kim Sang Ho plays popular professor Cha Yoo Gon, while Son Chang Min turns into Wi Seung Hyun’s father, Wi Gi Young, who is so perfect that he sometimes looks suspicious. In addition, Lee Moon Sik, Seo Yi Sook, Jung Young Joo, and Ji So Won will enliven the drama with their skilled acting.
Meanwhile, Rookies will be released on Disney Plus in the first half of 2022.
