BTS’ Jungkook is in hot water over enabling backdoor advertisement of his brother’s clothing company.

Recently, Jungkook appeared on a V-Live wearing a t-shirt from GRAFFITIONMIND launched by Six6uys Co., Ltd, the company founded by his brother Jeon Jung Hyun. A few days later, he uploaded a picture on his social media wearing the shirt of the same brand. Previously, Jungkook was named the in-house director of the clothing brand.

Soon, fans claimed that what he did was backdoor advertising. ‘Backdoor online advertising’ refers to the practice of Korean celebrities promoting products without disclosing their partnership or monetary transactions with or between the company. As a result, Jungkook resigned from the in-house director position on September 14th.

In the end, an online user filed a complaint to the Fair Trade Commission on October 1st regarding Jungkook’s malpractice and requested an investigation.
