CJ ENM and HYBE are looking for a next-generation K-pop girl group that will follow the steps of ENHYPEN.

On Monday, the two companies’ upcoming joint project I-LAND 2 dropped a teaser and started recruiting applicants. Like ENHYPEN, this new girl group to be formed through the show will be managed by BELIFT LAB.

Any girl born between January 1st, 2000 and December 31st, 2009 can apply for the global audition, regardless of nationality. More detailed information is uploaded on BELIFT LAB’s official website (beliftlab.com).

Additionally, auditions will be held sequentially in seven countries, starting with Korea in October (Japan, Vietnam, Australia, Thailand, and the United States) for those who pass the document evaluation. The show will air in the first half of next year.

I-LAND is an observational reality show that depicts the creation of the next generation of K-pop artists. It showcases a new concept that combines CJ ENM’s content production capabilities and HYBE’s artist-producing know-hows. Last year, season 1 garnered more than 186 million cumulative views and had viewers from 181 countries vote for their favorite applicants.

ENHYPEN, born through the show, released their debut album BORDER: DAY ONE on November 30th last year. They sold a total of 318,528 copies of the smash on the day of the release. This made ENHYPEN the rookie group with the best album sales in 2020. With their second mini-album, BORDER: CARNIVAL, the act entered Billboard 200 at No. 18 and ranked 1st on Oricon’s Weekly Album chart in Japan. In addition, the group won the title “million-seller” with just two albums.
