BTS Nominated for 5 Awards at the 2021 MTV VMAs

BTS has snagged 5 nominations at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMAs).

On August 11th (local time), the 2021 MTV has announced this year’s VMAs nominees.

And on this day, BTS was named in 5 categories – Song of the Year (“Dynamite“), Best Pop (“Butter”), Best K-pop (“Butter”), Best Choreography (“Butter”), and Best Editing (“Butter”). With this, this global boy band won the most nominations for this year’s VMAs.

First, BTS’s “Dynamite” was nominated for Song of the Year. For the award, BTS will be competing with some of the biggest names in the global music industry, including Bruno Mars, 24kGoldn, Cardi B, Dua Lipa, and Olivia Rodrigo.

At last year’s MTV VMAs, BTS picked up 4 trophies, including Best Pop, Best K-pop, and Best Group. And a year before that, they were awarded Best Group and Best K-pop.

Meanwhile, this year’s nominees for Best K-Pop are (G)I-DLE’s “DUMDi DUMDi,” BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez’s “Ice Cream,” BTS’s “Butter,” MONSTA X’s “Gambler,” SEVENTEEN’s “Ready to Love,” and TWICE’s “Alcohol-Free.”

The 2021 MTV VMAs will air live from New York’s Barclays Center on September 12th at 8 PM ET.
