Son Ye Jin confirmed her comeback to the small screen with Thirty-Nine (literal title).
Thirty-Nine is a realistic human romance about the love and life of three 39-years-old friends. It will be produced as a 12-part series by Lotte Culture works. Encounter and Miracle in Cell No. 7 writer Yoo Young Ah pens the script, and Run On co-director Kim Sang Ho helms the production.
Son Ye Jin takes on the role of Cha Mi Joo, a dermatologist who runs a clinic in Gangnam. Having been raised in a wealthy family, Cha grew up to be a woman who has it all. She will be the central figure who leads the story of the three women. Hospital Playlist actress Jeon Mi Do will play Cha Mi Joo’s best friend, Jung Chan Young.
After Crash Landing on You started the new Korean Wave, all attention has focused on Son Ye Jin’s comeback project. So naturally, the series is receiving a lot of attention not only in Korea but also abroad.
Thirty-Nine will begin filming around August after finalizing its full cast.
