Former After School member Lizzy (aka Park Soo Young) caused a car crash while driving under the influence.
Celltrion Entertainment shared, “We have confirmed Lizzy’s drunk driving on the night of the 18th. We feel heavily responsible for her inexcusable behavior.”
The Gangnam Police Station is investigating Lizzy on charges of drunk under the influence. Her DUI resulted in an accident around 10:12 PM KST on May 18th near the Youngdong Bridge. She is said to have crashed into a taxi that was ahead of her.
The officers deemed that her blood alcohol level was enough to warrant a cancellation of her license. At the time of the collision, both Lizzy and the taxi had no passengers. Neither was injured.
Meanwhile, Lizzy’s past remark about drunk driving has caught the attention. “When I see people driving under the influence, I instantly report them to police. This is to prevent any secondary accident,” she said at the time. “It only costs 20,000 KRW (about $18) to call a driver, so why would you drive after drinking alcohol. It’s pathetic to waste one’s precious life, and I hate to see them cause an accident and cause harm to others.”
Lizzy made her debut as a member of After School in 2010. Later in her career, she made her acting debut and appeared in works like Ugly Miss Young Ae Season 17, Oh My Baby, and Love Forecast.
