Mnet denied the rumors of a feud with Starship Entertainment. However, even after the official explanation, some questions are still unanswered.
On Tuesday, rumors of conflict between Mnet and Starship surfaced. Mnet’s music show M Countdown announced that WJSN would be on their broadcast scheduled for April 1st. But six hours later, they called off the group’s appearance.
At the unexpected cancelation, WJSN’s fans raised their voices. Most of their complaints were about narrower promotion options for the group. WJSN will make their comeback with a new album UNNATURAL today at 6 PM KST.
Mnet clearly stated that “conflict” with Starship isn’t the reason behind the cancellation. “While talking about WJSN’s comeback stage on M Countdown, WJSN told us that they want to perform two songs. But because of Kingdom: Legendary War, we have a shorter running time and couldn’t fulfill WJSN’s requests. Thus, WJSN canceled their appearance on our show,” they told Newsen.
However, this isn’t the first time they canceled the Starship singers’ appearances on M Countdown. Before WJSN, Jeong Sewoon and Cravity failed to get on the M Countdown stage. Many say that Mnet and Starship’s dispute first started when Monsta X refused to appear in Kingdom: Legendary War. Some are even saying that this is Mnet’s power-tripping.
