‘The Box’ Will Screen in 11 Different Countries, With More to Be Added

As The Box decided to screen their music film in 11 countries worldwide, it increased the number. With pop songs loved internationally on theatre screens, interest in the movie has been non-stop.

As a well-made movie, it topped the Korean Box Office on the day of its release. Moreover, it became the center of attention for many other countries. The Box unfolds Ji Hoon’s story (Park Chan Yeol) as a singer who can only sing in a box. The journey begins when he meets a producer Min Soo (Jo Dal Hwan), and they miraculously hit the road.

Park Chan Yeol caught the hearts of global viewers as he sang hit-songs like Coldplay’s “A Sky Full of Stars,” Mariah Carrey’s “Without You,” Pharrel Willaims’ “Happy,” and Chet Baker’s “My Funny Valentine.” Even before it came out in Korea, it confirmed the release in Southeast Asian countries and Australia through its overseas distributor, M-Line. As of the 25th, the film has been sold and scheduled for its release in more than 32 countries, including New Zealand, Thailand, Baltic States, and Russia. Japan, China, the Philippines, India, and Hong Kong are also under discussion for its release, so the number is expected to go up.

The foreign market’s enthusiastic response to The Box proves how amusing pop-music performances are, especially through large screens and high-quality speakers in theatres. In addition, the hopeful message that everyone can break their own limitation to face the world seemed to resonate globally.
