BTOB’s Eunkwang Talks about His New OST ‘Leaving You’

Seo Eunkwang of BTOB demonstrated his delicate vocals through an OST of the webtoon Tomb Raider King, “Leaving You.”

“Leaving You” is a ballad track that combines Eunkwang’s unique vocals with sweet melodies and sad lyrics, making the webtoon more immersive. In a written interview with E-Daily, Seo Eunkwang said that “It’s an honor to be working with Kakao Page’s best webtoon Tomb Raider King. I enjoyed recording it because it is a ballad, a genre I like.”

Eunkwang’s “Leaving You” is a theme song for Seo Joo Heon, the main character of Tomb Raider King. The song contains the feelings of loss and longing that the character experienced after losing his family and loved ones before returning home. “I tried to express Seo Joo Heon’s feelings in the song while singing. It was one of the most difficult songs I’ve ever sung, so I had a hard time trying. As hard as it was, I’m also attached to it. It was a precious and enjoyable work,” he explained.

For the killing part of the song, he chose the part at the beginning of the chorus where he explodes with “I think I need a sunrise.” The singer stated that the melody and lyrics of the part are quite catchy. “The composition of the song as a whole is like a movie, with a plot which comes to life. I felt like I was the main character of Tomb Raider King while singing it.”

Seo Eunkwang also informed of BTOB’s preparation for Mnet’s survival program Kingdom which is to kick off on April 1st. “We are focusing our whole attention on preparing for Kingdom. Through the show, we want to let more people know about BTOB’s music and show everything we haven’t yet,” he said as he asked for everyone’s support. Finally, Seo Eunkwang said that he wanted to deliver a message to BTOB’s fan club Melodies, saying, “Thank you for always supporting and loving us.”
