Actress Kim Hye Ri’s act of kindness has been recently revealed.
Chosun Ilbo posted an interview with Kim Ji Hwan, CEO of the Korean Unwed Father Support Association on the 30th. Kim Ji Hwan is a ‘single-father’ who raises a child by himself unwed. He told the story of how he frequently visited the Legal Aid Corporation to report his daughter Sarang’s birth and was able to register only after his protest and trial.
He particularly drew attention by mentioning actress Kim Hye Ri in the interview. As a single father, he was not economically stable and had his job changed 13 times before his daughter went to the daycare center. “I suddenly got a call from the actress, Kim Hyeri. She said she saw my one-man protest, and that she would help take care of my child from 10 to 3,” he said. Kim Ji Hwan added that he was able to wash the dishes at a nearby restaurant during that time thanks to Kim Hye Ri’s help.
As the actress’s good deeds were belatedly known, many netizens started praising her commenting, “Kim Hye Ri is so awesome,” “She’s amazing,” and “I knew she had a kind heart, but she’s an angel.”
Kim Hye Ri made her debut as an actress after being elected as Miss Korea in 1988. She appeared in multiple dramas including It’s My Life. The actress particularly showed her special affection towards her daughter who she has been raising alone since the divorce. She also appeared on King of Mask Singer last year because she “wanted to show [her] daughter on TV, with something other than the drama.”
